What is the Affordable Care Act?
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) gives everyone more choices when choosing health coverage using the Health Insurance Marketplace. The Marketplace is a website where you can compare and shop for health coverage for you and your family that meets your needs and fits your budget.
The Open Enrollment Period (OEP) for 2019 health insurance begins on Nov. 1. During OEP you can choose a health care plan that fits your needs.
If you have health insurance…
If you buy health insurance yourself or have it through work or a government program, there may not be many changes. But your coverage could include new benefits that the law has put in place, such as free screenings for some preventive services and the ability to continue to insure your adult children up to age 26.
If you do not have health insurance…
The health care law creates options for many people to get coverage regardless of pre-existing conditions or current health status. You may qualify for reduced costs on your monthly premiums and lower out-of-pocket costs depending on your income, family size, and the health plan you choose. Now that you have more information about ACA, do you feel more prepared to select health coverage for your and your family?
