An annual notice of change document, or ANOC, explanation covering its purpose and popular sections listing any differences in costs, monthly premium or changes to plan benefits for the coming year.
If you're enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan, you'll receive an Annual Notice of Change document or ANOC, each September. Health insurance coverage is always evolving, and the purpose of an ANOC is to keep you up to date by summarizing any differences in your plan’s costs or benefits in the upcoming year. That's why it's such an important letter. So let's take a closer look at an ANOC, so you can see just how it works. When you open the ANOC, one of the first things you'll see is the Summary of Important Costs. This table allows you to quickly compare your current plan’s cost with the cost that will take effect starting January 1st. You'll notice that some costs go down and some go up. Section one it goes into more detail about the differences to your benefits or costs for the new year, including changes to your monthly premium, out-of-pocket amounts, and drug coverage. If you want to know whether there are any changes to your monthly premium, check out Section 1.1 to see what the premium cost is for this year and then you can easily compare it to the new cost beginning January 1st. If you have any questions about the ANOC, or you want to discuss any changes and benefits or costs, just call the number listed on the back of your member ID card. An ANOC is a document that can help you understand any changes to your health plan and keep you in the know.
