Keep Your Member ID Card Close

Your member ID card has the information you’ll need when you get care or fill a prescription. You can use a physical card or use a digital copy with the BCBSMT App. You can even add it to your phone’s wallet if you have an iOS device.

Why You Need It

Your member ID card has the information you need to access the care and prescriptions covered by your plan:

• Your identification number
• Your group number (if you're part of an employer health plan)
• Your plan type
• Details on your coverage, such as medical, vision, dental or prescription drug benefits
• Phone numbers to call to verify your coverage before your appointments

Once you are at the provider’ office, you may need your member ID card to check in for your visit. The staff may make a copy of it for their files.

Getting Your Card

To get your member ID card online:

• Log in to your account. If you haven’t registered yet, you’ll need your group and individual member ID numbers. You can find both in the welcome letter or plan materials you received when you enrolled.
• Click the View ID Card link on the dashboard.
• You can download and print your member ID card or order a new one by clicking the Request Member ID Card button.

You can also opt in for a digital-only member ID card. You can use a digital member ID card just like you would a printed card. But you won’t have a printed card to keep up with.

To access your member ID card via the BCBSMT App:

• Log in to your account using the mobile app. You can also set face recognition to log in.
• Click the View ID Card link on the dashboard.
• You can show the ID card to your provider or share it with them by text or email. Just touch the share icon in the upper right corner and choose Share ID Card.
